Pro & AAC — Individuals & Families Pro AAC
This chapter covers the Pro and AAC editions. Everything in the other chapters also applies. Both are built for an individual professional or a family supporting a student on their own device.
AAC is the same app as Pro with one difference: its academic catalog is a 52-unit sample — one unit per grade, K–12, in each core subject — noted by a banner on the unit picker (chapter 02). Everything else in this chapter applies to both editions equally.
1. One device, one sign-in
Pro and AAC use a single staff PIN, created at first launch (chapter 00). That PIN is asked for when opening Settings or editing content, keeping the student's setup safe from accidental changes. Everyday communication never asks for the PIN.
You can still keep up to 5 students on the device and switch between them (chapter 00).

3. Setting up your student at home
A simple path for a family getting started:
- First launch — Simple Start, choose your state, and create your staff PIN (chapter 00).
- Student Profile — name, grade band, and level.
- Access method — set up touch, switch, gaze, or listening (chapter 04).
- Unit Library — turn on the academic units you want (chapter 02).
- Start communicating (chapter 01) and, when ready, run assessments (chapter 03).
4. Reports you can share
Open the board's clinician area (the stethoscope button), enter your staff PIN, then choose Reports & Export on the Dashboard. Pro and AAC can generate four reports as PDFs — useful for sharing with a student's team at school or in therapy:
- Parent Communication Summary — a plain-English overview of what your child communicated.
- Communication Summary — totals and patterns from real usage.
- Vocabulary Growth Report — new words over time.
- IEP Goal Progress Report — how your child is doing against the IEP goal a clinician has set up, day by day, with a trend. If no goal has been set up, the report says so; goal setup is a Clinician-edition tool, so ask your child's clinician.
Every report is generated from your child's recorded usage on this iPad. Chapter 10 walks through each report in detail.
